Concept 85 & 86

85 #3

The most romantic actor of all time in my head would be Leonardo Di Caprio. He plays a wonderful role in the Titanic. A romantic actress would be Amanda Seyfried. Obviously it would be a romance story. An epic romance story. They'd play hopeless romantics.

86 # 2

If my neighbor invited people and I never saw the guest leave, i'd be suspicious. If they invited my parents, they only way i'd find out what was going on, is to sneak around the back when he's distracted. What's happening is the he takes away all their electronics and any communication devices, and has them as hostage in the basement.

Concept 78 #2

2. In my opinion, i believe that the comedy genre would be hard. For the comedy genre, you have to think about what the audience would like, and you would have to come up with jokes, which in my opinion is hard. I'm not really good with jokes.

concept 75 #3

3. Pretty Little Liars. It has teenage issues, such as romance. But it has a twist to it. The message is to not lie and to be careful of whom you tell your secrets too. You're secrets can be heard by someone you don't want to know.

Reflection for "Do the Right Thing"

This movie was really confusing. It was interesting at moments. I guess it revolves around Sal's Pizzeria. It also revolves around how one guy wants to revolt against the pizzeria because Sal doesn't have african americans on the Hall of Fame. I really liked this film. There's a lot of suggestive dialogue. Over all, it was good.

concept 74 #1

1. I enjoy movies that have a suspense feeling to it. I also enjoy movies that make me cry, it shows me that the film is actually good because it made me emotional. Suspense movies make me think more during the film.

Concept 73

My favorite film hero is Van Helsing. My favorite villain is the Joker. The plot would be a huge robbery caused by Joker. In fact, this time, The joker would win. I've always wanted a villain to win a film. It adds more of a twist.

Concept 71

3. The Dark Knight, Fantastic Four, Van Helsing.

I actually think this is a very effective method because it shows it gives us a suspense kind of feeling. We start thinking, what kind of villain is this, & what is he or she going to do? A villain would be more watchable.

Concept 70

1. If the story was told in a first-party viewpoint, i think it would be weird. Maybe there would be more detail because the story would be told from the person who actually experienced the whole thing. For the wolf, maybe he would make the story seem like he isn't the bad guy. The grandmother's point of view wouldn't really be that interesting because she's in bed the whole time.

Concept 69

1. If i was writing a film with dialects, the resources i would use to ensure that my wording and slang expressions are accurate would be the internet! You can find anything about slang on the internet.

African American Genre

The African American genre has changed a lot over time. African American's can be portrayed as many people, but one thing i've noticed is in films, they tend to be the bad guy, the drug addict, or the gang member. This was a lot in the old times. Now African Americans are getting a more variety of roles, such as the hero in the film, in the main role, or the good guy.  African American roles vary. Back in the day, they were very limited, but now there's a lot of variety. African American's can be anything in their roles today.

Identify Suspense Techniques in Script for Rear Window

Dialogue Means Nothing- Use facial expressions, have one character not listening to the other, dialogue can be a lie.

Keep the Story Simple- Linear and streamlined. Keep your story simple, but  characters complex.

Characters Must Break Cliche- Lisa breaks into the apartment, Thorwald respectable murder.

Use Humor to Add Tension- Characters in ironic situations.

Two Things Happening at Once- Distract audience, Thorwald hiding the knife, Miss Lonely hearts

Suspense is Information- Dog returning to the garden

Surprise and Twist- Son is the mom in Psycho, Rear Window has moments where Thorwald looks innocent.

Warning May Cause MacGuffin-Drives the story forward, the thing that everybody wants,
Psycho- $40,000

Part II: Label which techniques are used in scene from Rear Window
Surprise and Twist- Pushes him out the window.
Two things happening at once-

Film Festival reflection

I watched the film "No Look Pass". To be honest, at first i thought it was going to be really boring, but it turned out to be really interesting. I loved the parts when they showed her playing basketball and when she would shoot, it would go in slow motion. It was really interesting. I loved it.

Concept 64 #3

I actually think it would be a good idea for one of the characters to have a big speech. It would really make things intense. It would explain a lot of more about our topic.

Concept 63 #2

2. My favorite music video currently, is Turn up the music, by Chris brown. Emotions that i can visualize are the intense faces he makes when he dances. These do send the message of the lyrics, because it's basically saying, forget about everything for a night, and just have fun.

Twilight Zone Blog

Some techniques they used for suspense was in the beginning, they didn't show any of the faces. When they finally unwrapped the bandage from the girl's face, we could see the face, but they still wouldn't show the doctor's and nurses faces. Then they finally showed their faces. It makes you think, what's wrong with the girls face. When you see that her face is perfectly normal, you think, what's wrong with the doctor and nurse's faces?

Concept 61 #1

1. Shrek, Ella Enchanted, Cinderella.
This technique was effective because in all the movies, it helped the audience understand what was happening. The narrator would basically explain what was going to happen, before it happened. Sometimes the narrator would leave a suspense kind of feeling.

Concept 53 #1,2,3

1. Scooby Doo, the movie. - They separate into groups and one group finds more clues while the other group is just lost.

2. Taken- When his daughter gets kidnapped in Paris, he travels there to find her and finds a lot of clues, while the girl's stepdad is using his money to find her, but never could.
3. Mean Girls- We know what each character is thinking and so you could tell what the girls want to do behind the other girls backs. They're confused in the movie, but the audience knows what's going on.

2. My secret would be that her boyfriend is cheating on her. I would drop 2 clues. I would know where she goes with her boyfriend at all times, and where he goes with his other girlfriend at times. A clue would be to tell her to keep him with her at all times, and then the second one would be to take her to the place where her boyfriend hangs out with his other girlfriend.

3. When the characters are thinking, the audience could here it, so they'll know exactly what the character is going to do, while in the movie, the characters don't know whats going to happen.

Singin' In the Rain

Singing- This movie was a musical, it had many songs. The musical basically revolved around the music.
Dancing- I think the dancing was a bigger part than the songs. Without the dancing, the music would be boring. The dancing was amazing.
Acting- In my opinion, the movies back in this time, are much better than the ones we have now. The acting is really good.
Story- It's amazing how the story goes from one place to another, and the conflict is good.

Concept 41 # 1

The recipient is a gang member who writes a letter to his leader, explaining to him, how he now has the money that he owes his leader. He first writes a letter to himself, venting out his feelings about how much he hates his leader. He then writes a second letter which is the one that belongs to his leader. He accidentally sends the one in which he was venting his feelings. That letter has vile language, and many rude things. He'd have to get to into his leaders email before his leader reads it.
